Collection: Built-to-Order Subaru Long Blocks for WRX, STI & BRZ

Crawford Performance Subaru Long Blocks: Built to Order

The Crawford Long Block program gives WRX, STI and BRZ owners a complete, drop-in engine built in our own shop. Every long block starts with a brand-new OEM short block (no core required), gets CrawfordSPEC forged internals matched to your horsepower target, and is topped with cylinder heads that have been through our inspection and prep. Lead time is 2–4 weeks from order.

  • Built to order: three power ratings for the EJ255/EJ257, from 450 whp to 600+ whp
  • Race-proven components: JE forged pistons, Pauter billet rods and upgraded bearings developed with Crawford over 30 years of racing
  • Blueprinted within OEM specs: we don't bore, deck or sleeve a block that doesn't need it
  • Warranty: 12 months / 12,000 miles standard, with the only 36-month option on a built Subaru motor. Read the terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Subaru long block?
A long block is the short block (block, crank, rods, pistons) plus the cylinder heads and valvetrain, assembled and ready to install. A short block is the bottom end only.

Do I need to send a core?
No. Every Crawford long block is built on a brand-new OEM short block. Pricing includes reconditioning and reusing your existing heads; new OEM heads can be added at checkout.

Which cars do they fit?
The EJ255/EJ257 long block fits the 2004–2021 WRX STI, 2002–2014 WRX, and the EJ-powered Forester XT, Legacy GT and Outback XT. FA20 (BRZ / FR-S / 86 and WRX DIT) builds are handled as short blocks plus head work; contact us for a quote.

Are they forged?
Yes. Every rating uses CrawfordSPEC forged pistons; Club Racer and Racer Spec add billet rods. See each product page for the exact components.

Can I customize the build?
Every long block is built to order. Pick the power rating that matches your goal, and call us if you have a specific combination in mind.
