Proven where it doesn't forgive.

In 2017, Subaru of America launched its first factory desert program — and the Crosstrek Desert Racer that carried it ran a Crawford-built 2.5L boxer. With Grabowski Brothers Racing, the car won five Class 5 Unlimited races across 2017–2019.

Baja is the line those years built: parts for the Subarus that leave the pavement, tested at race pace and then put on street cars.

Sustained grades, dust, and heat are hard on a boxer engine. The Baja air/oil separator keeps oil out of the intake and in the motor — closed-loop, with automatic drain-back, the way Crawford invented it.
