Crawford Cars Announces CSS 4 and CSS 5, New Sport Sedans Derived from the 2026 Subaru WRX

Built by Crawford Performance, CSS 4 and CSS 5 bring understated design, serious power, and a more complete approach to the modern sport sedan

York, Pennsylvania — March 9, 2026 — Crawford Cars today announced the CSS 4 and CSS 5, two new sport sedans derived from the 2026 Subaru WRX and built by Crawford Performance.

The new lineup marks the next step for Crawford, bringing the company’s Subaru engine expertise, performance development, and motorsport background into complete vehicle builds.

Each Crawford Cars sedan begins with the 2026 Subaru WRX and is reworked with Crawford-built systems designed to improve power, handling, braking, and overall driver engagement. At launch, the lineup will include the CSS 4 and CSS 5, denoting Crawford Sport Sedan 4 and Crawford Sport Sedan 5.

The CSS 4 delivers 400 wheel horsepower, while the CSS 5 raises output to 500 wheel horsepower. Both models are powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter dual-overhead-cam boxer 4-cylinder engine, giving each sedan the responsiveness, character, and performance expected from a Crawford-built package.

Big power is part of it, of course, but the real goal was to build something cohesive—something that feels complete every time you drive it,” said Mark Schlachter, CEO of Crawford Performance.

The Crawford Cars lineup will feature low-volume sport sedans with Crawford-developed engines, suspension tuning, chassis upgrades, and functional design changes. Each model is being developed as a complete package rather than a collection of unrelated parts.

The goal is straightforward: build a sedan that feels sharper, faster, and more complete without losing the everyday usability that made the WRX a strong foundation in the first place.

The result is a sport sedan with real engineering, real capability, and a more restrained sense of confidence—built for drivers who value substance over noise.
